This Is Texas Wine: New Podcast Released Today Focuses on the Dynamic Texas Wine Industry

This Is Texas Wine, a new podcast by Shelly Wilfong, was released today on all major podcast platforms. Wilfong will deliver the latest news about Texas wineries, interview industry leaders, provide wine recommendations, share reports from Texas vineyards, and give Texas-specific wine education. Podcast topics will also include Texas wine travel recommendations, industry trends, and legislative developments.
“Texas needs a dedicated wine podcast because more people need to understand, take pride in, and ultimately drink Texas wine,” host Shelly Wilfong said. “Texas is a rapidly developing wine region that’s producing great wine. It’s an exciting industry to watch. From new varieties planted in the vineyard to new approaches in the winery, the Texas wine industry is constantly evolving. Texas is making some premium wine that deserves attention. It’s those wines and stories that I want to share with a larger audience.”
This Is Texas Wine launched with three episodes: Why Texas Needs a Wine Podcast, Texas Wine in 10 Minutes, and 10 Tips for Planning a Wine-Focused Trip to the Texas Hill Country. New podcast episodes will be released every other week.

Shelly Wilfong is a freelance wine writer, wine educator, and a frequent contributor to the Texas Wine Lover website. She is the founder of Toast Wine Talk and the Dallas Women’s Wine Club.
Wilfong holds a Certified Specialist of Wine designation through the Society of Wine Educators as well as the Level 3 (Advanced) award from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust. She is a Specialist of Texas Wine through the Texas Wine School and has the WSET Level 1 certification in Sake. Wilfong is a member of the International Food, Wine & Travel Writers Association, volunteers with the TEXSOM International Wine Awards, and has judged the Texas Wine & Grape Growers Association Lone Star International Wine Competition.
